I find that its terribly hard to treat it like a job going to scoohl full time (19 credit hours this semester WHEE!!!!) and working. Between those two things I only have the vaguest notion of what free time is and even so that’s almost a second job when what little free time I have is devoted to putting words on paper and #amwriting. What I often find frustrating is how complimentary people are of my writing. Now don’t get me wrong I’d rather here people say I love it! Vs. This sucks! But neither are particularly helpful. I don’t let many people read what I’ve written, those that I do I trust (read: hope) they’re going to be honest and hurt my feelings to try and make it better. This isn’t my first attempt at writing a novel length work. It’s not even my second. In fact I’ve written three manuscripts long enough that they would count as a novel. Admittedly, both of those sucked, very much. So much that they’ve never seen the light of day no matter how much I liked them and liked writing them: plot holes the size of Alaska, characters as flat as Kansas, plot twists seen from a mile away. You know the same mistakes that all beginning writers make.I’ve had to start and stop this post so many times (class, work, more class) that I’ve utterly forgotten what my point was.Something along the lines of it’s hard to be full time or even part time. Now if there were 36 hours in a day maybe then I wouldn’t have to choose between writing and sleep
